La Marzocco, the Leonardo DaVinci of espresso machines!

If you’re not familiar with the La Marzocco name, need not to worry we have you covered for a brief history in one of the most notorious names in the coffee industry.

The name La Marzocco is synonymous with artesian espresso machines that more closely resemble artwork.  Founded in 1927 by Giuseppe and Bruno Bambi out of Florence, Italy the birthplace of Italian Renaissance, it only seems suitable that these fine machines are produced in this region.

La Marzocco pioneered and patented the horizontal boiler system designed in their first espresso machine which is now an industry standard.  This was the first in a series of innovations which later included the creation of the dual boiler system and saturated brewing groups.

Hand built still to this day 30km north of Florence, Italy, La Marzocco has developed a tradition and passion for quality and superior reliability which resonate through the entire company.  Right now, highly specialized personnel supervise each stage in the production of EVERY. SINGLE. MACHINE.  Custom made and hand crafted with every single order for every single client.  90 years later Giuseppe Bambi’s spirit for professional pride and great experience live on.

Even the namesake is rooted in symbolism, “Marzocco,” which is a seated lion with the crest of the Florentine Lily, synonymous with victory and triumph was chosen because of the time period when the machines were sold.  In 1927, Giuseppe produced & designed the machines, parts and assembled them when selling anything was considered to be a “triumph,” hence the La Marzocco namesake.

In 2019, La Marzocco introduced the “Accademia Del Caffe Espresso” project housed in the original manufacturing facility from 1959 – 2009.  The project and space offer a variety of opportunities and platforms to connect, educate and champion the international coffee community towards a sustainable future.

Today, La Marzocco is sold around the world through a distribution network supported by qualified technicians, bilingual personnel and sales offices out of Milan, Italy.  With the rise of more home-based machines such as the Linea Mini & GS3, it has helped broader their user base and opened a newer market for the company vs their professional barista machines.

If you have an appreciation for fine details, hand craftsmanship and are ready to elevate your home espresso experience put La Marzocco on your list and connect with us on which machine is right for you.
